Sponsor A Family
Omaha has two resettlement agencies in Omaha: Refugee Empowerment Center and Lutheran Family Services. Both of these agencies are responsible for resettling newly arriving refugee families. They receive federal funding to assist these families for the first 90 days that they are in Omaha. Sponsoring a family means that your organization/religious group/etc. will gather all the items necessary for the family and setup their new apartment with these items. There is the potential for longer term engagement with the family as well. To sign-up to sponsor a family, you will need to fill out a form on each agency’s website. Here are the links to the forms:
