At the heart of Restoring Dignity is our belief that something can and should be done to meet the needs of Omaha’s refugee community through empowerment, education, and advocacy partnerships.

What We Do

We provide three core services to Omaha refugees:

Action

We provide resettled refugee families with crucial services such as home-makeovers, relief programs and language access support.

Education

Our family educators go directly into homes and teach critical skills such as home/fire safety, healthy home education and home owners maintenance education classes. All classes are taught in the language the family speaks, by an educator who is from the family’s community.

Advocacy

We provide critical housing advocacy for refugees who are struggling with substandard living conditions.

“By exposing people to more fortunate events, you provide more opportunities for hidden talent to emerge in society.”

-Andrea Rapisarda

Donate Home Items

Up to 2,000 refugees are resettled in Omaha every year. Ensure that they have furniture and household items by dropping off gently used items at the furniture bank, run by our non-profit partner, The Furniture Project. Learn more about how and where to drop off items here!

Donate Financially

Because of the generous support of people like you, we have been able to serve over 21,000 refugees in the Omaha area since 2018! Our vital programming helps families acclimate to life here in America, and sets people up in environments where they can thrive. Support our mission today and know that your contribution directly impacts refugee families.
