The Hygiene Pantry
Our Restoring Wellbeing Hygiene Pantry was launched in the Fall of 2026 to assist families adversely affected by recent federal legislation through the loss of SNAP and Medicaid. In Omaha, this number is around 3,000 people. Some of the families who have lost this public assistance are at significant risk of becoming homeless if additional assistance is not provided. In particular, those with terminal and chronic illnesses, single mothers, families with adults with disabilities who cannot work, and others in very difficult situations are at extreme risk. Restoring Dignity’s goal with the hygiene pantry is to provide monthly (or bi-monthly) hygiene boxes to the most severely impacted families. Without this assistance, these families will not have the financial ability to purchase these items.
Supporting Refugee Serving Agencies
Our goal with the Hygiene Pantry is to provide hygiene boxes not only to our clients, but also to the clients of our fellow refugee-serving agencies. Every month (or bi-monthly), we will email agencies that have been accepted into our pantry distribution to order boxes for their clients. After the order has been accepted, agencies will be sent an email with a link to schedule a time to pick up the boxes.
Inventory
Our Hygiene Pantry is 100% funded by community donations. Available boxes are contingent on the number of donations we have received towards the Hygiene Pantry.
How to Register
If you are interested in becoming a hygiene box distribution partner, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Please note:
(1) Your agency must be a 501(c)3 non-profit to receive boxes.
(2) You also must serve refugee and immigrant clients impacted by recent federal legislation (loss of SNAP, Medicaid, loss of work permit, etc.).
Boxes are not intended to go to families who still have access to SNAP, Medicaid, and have their work permit/authorization to work.
(3) All boxes must go to households that are in the greatest need and cannot afford hygiene products.
